Simply download Vinyl Identifier from the App Store or Google Play Store, open the app, and start taking photos of your vinyl records! You can capture the album cover, record label, and back cover for comprehensive analysis. The AI will analyze the images and provide identification, pressing details, condition grading, and approximate valuation. Remember: This is an informational and entertainment tool only - always consult professional record dealers or grading services for official appraisals.
Vinyl Identifier uses Google Gemini AI to analyze images and identify vinyl records. The app provides artist and album identification, pressing variant detection (first pressing, reissue, promo, etc.), Goldmine condition grading for media and sleeve, matrix/runout number interpretation, and approximate market valuations. You can also organize your collection with storage management features. Results are APPROXIMATE and for informational/entertainment purposes only.
Vinyl Identifier offers basic features for free with daily usage limits. Premium subscription tiers (weekly and yearly) provide enhanced features and unlimited identifications. A 3-day free trial is available with the weekly subscription.
IMPORTANT: Vinyl Identifier is an INFORMATIONAL AND ENTERTAINMENT TOOL ONLY, not a professional record grading or appraisal service. Always consult professional record dealers, grading services, or certified appraisers for any valuations that matter.

Vinyl record images are stored locally on your device. Images are temporarily transmitted to Google Gemini AI services for processing but are NOT stored for long-term storage by Google. Because images are processed by Google and not stored on our servers, we CANNOT delete images from Google's systems. Please see our Privacy Policy for more details about data handling and Google's data retention policies.
Try closing the app completely and reopening it. If the problem persists, restart your device. Make sure you have the latest version of Vinyl Identifier installed from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Response times can vary based on Google Gemini AI server load and internet connection. Try checking your internet connection and restarting the app if responses are consistently slow.
For best results: use good, even lighting; place the record/cover on a neutral background; avoid shadows and glare; capture both the album cover and the record label for comprehensive analysis. The double-sided scan provides significantly more accurate results than single-image analysis.
Vinyl Identifier requires camera access to take photos of vinyl records and storage access to save your collection history. Grant the necessary permissions in your device settings under Privacy & Security.
For best results, make sure your vinyl record or album cover is well-lit and clearly visible. Use the crop tool to center the subject in the frame. Avoid shadows and reflections on glossy surfaces.
If none of these solutions work, please contact us at mbviksva@gmail.com with a detailed description of your problem, including your device model and OS version.
